Duck Race Mania comes to Denton...

The Denton Parks Foundation is hosting the 3rd Annual Denton Duck Derby on June 2, 2012, at the Denton Water Works Park.    The Duck Derby will raise money to help support park enhancements and recreation programs of Denton and encourage participation in those programs through scholarships.

Duck Derbys all over the country have proven to be a great way to draw the community together for a fun event and to raise money for a good cause.  Businesses can participate as sponsors and underwriters of the Denton Duck Derby.  Individuals can adopt ducks for participation in two races, a kids race and an adults race.   Individually numbered rubber ducks will be dumped into the continuous river at the Denton Water Works Park.  The first ducks to cross the finish line will win prizes for their lucky adopted owners.

Come have fun, watch the race and cheer the ducks to the finish line on June 2, 2012 at the Denton Water Works Park.  We will have live entertainment, opening ceremonies and much more during the first annual Denton Duck Derby benefiting the Denton Parks Foundation.

The Denton Duck Derby will follow the course of the Continous River at the Denton Water Works Park. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishing ducks as well as additional prizes to randomly selected ducks in both races. Lucky Ducks, sponsored by Ramey King Insurance and the Denton Parks Foundation, which finish in 13th place in each race will have the chance to win $50,000 in the adult race or a $20,000 college education in the kids race. Admission to the 3rd Annual Denton Duck Derby at 9 am (gates open at 8 am), Saturday June 2th is free and open to the public. GET A FREE PASS FOR LATER ADMISSION TO THE WATER PARK on any day by presenting adoptions papers for 6 or more ducks. Simply present your adoption papers on the morning of June 2 for your free pass.
